One of the most tedious tasks in a film production is the job of the act consultant. Every time we hear people praising the movie the first thing that comes to our mind is that the director is good and creative, or the executive producer allotted a big budget for the movie and got the best actors that money could buy.
We never recognize the job done by the act consultant. The consultant’s responsibility is primarily to look for actors and actresses who can deliver the goods and excellently portray the character of the movie project. It’s the job of the act consultant to recommend to the executive producer and to the director the person he chose to star in the movie.
The act consultant must see to it that he has completed the casting of characters way before the deadline set by the executive producer. Beating the deadline is very important because the cast will still have to undergo acting workshops and physical preparations in order for them to portray their assigned characters well.
Some preparations for a big movie production can even take months or years because these preparations include cast workshops, location scouting, costume designing and set making. That is apart from the time that will be consumed by thinking about the kind of movie to produce, the budget and the storyline. The act consultant plays a great role in the movie industry as they contribute a lot to the success or failure of the movie project.
