Finding a hotel room in Valencia is not usually a problem, although it might be difficult to choose between the types of accommodation available. There are hotels in a range of prices to suit various budgets, in addition to rented lodging obtainable in different parts of the city. It is also possible to find a place to stay that is close to one of Valencia's beaches.
Beaches in Valencia
Among all the attractive historic and modern buildings, plazas and shops, all demonstrating diversity within the city, it should be noted that one of Valencia's great attractions is its beaches.
Valencia's coast line contains three beach areas. Playa las Arenas is the nearest beach to the city. The southern part of this beach appears to be more of an area by the sea for leisure events, promenades and bars, rather than an area suitable for sunbathing. Visitors who are looking for hotel accommodation close to the sea should look at the options available in this area. Holiday makers wishing to sunbathe should walk along the beach further north. The northern part of this beach is more of a traditional sandy shore beach that then transforms into playa de Malvarossa. Playa de Malvarossa is the major beach of Valencia. This is a lively beach which is usually crowded as it seems to be the first choice of most of the population of Valencia during the summer months. This beach offers fine sands, a range of restaurants and bars along the sea front and an abundance of energetic beach activity.
Tourists searching for a quieter beach for sunbathing or other beach leisure activities may prefer to visit Playa de Patacona. This beach is the most northern of the city's sandy attractions and therefore is the furthest from the city center. Playa de Patacona hosts a wider stretch of sands than the alternatives and tends to be less crowded than the other Valencia beaches. This certainly does not mean that a visitor would be alone on the sandy shores, but there is perhaps a feeling of more space due to the wider sands and less crowds. Although reaching this beach entails a longer walk from the city center, it is a good recommendation for those looking for a less crowded beach option.
The city of Valencia certainly has a lot to offer to its citizens and many visitors. There is no doubt that the colors, beautiful landscapes and sea air contribute to a traveler's enjoyment of this charming Mediterranean city.
