While I don't recommend spamming social bookmarking sites, it's okay to use them and submit your best post once in a while as long as you are aware of these sites and that it is not a guarantee that you'll get visitors, but you are giving them a chance. If you do obtain a lot of traffic, it's usually just in the spur of the moment and doesn't last long; but, you do get some new readers and possibly more bloggers linking to you. All of these incoming links will help with search engine optimization.
