Don't get charged for favoritism- If you are planning to gift only a selected few like your assistant, receptionist or the clerk then hand over the gifts silently. Don't let everybody know or you can be charged with favoritism.
Personalized Gifts- One personalized gift means personalized gifts to all. Do not give special gifts to one and a uniform gift to the rest. Doing this can create negative feedbacks against you.
Remember that the gift items you can give to your wife/husband are different from the gift items you can give to your employees. Make fair choices.
If you are personalizing gifts to everyone then be careful while gifting your diabetic employees, they should not receive chocolates or cookies; or the overweight employees, they should not receive clothes that will not fit them. Again make fair choices.
Say no to gender discrimination- While choosing gifts for all see to it that you are not selecting $50 for men and $10 gift for women. Keep it equal. Or rather choose an item that suits both men and women.
A party is a party and a gift is a gift- A gift is different from party. Don't think that once you have given a party that means you have given them your gift. A party is a party and a gift is a gift.
Accept gift brings back easily. - Receiving returned gifts is perhaps quite an embarrassing feel but be sure you don't blow up, that would end that employee an added build in the unemployment order. You'll just scare everybody if you do that. Keep them comfortable and appraise their honesty.
Do not give something that you feel is good, give them something that they like and that which does not hurt their religion, ethnicity, health, personal ethics, cultural background, etc. Make sure you take note of these things so that you avoid hurting your employees in the process or having your gifts returned.
Any corporate gift item not associated to work is very much satisfying as your employees are not obligated to use it at the office or where you will be able to see it.
Don't give gifts that doesn't make sense. "Idiot guide to counting from one to ten correctly", "better understanding about work and professionalism", "easy guide to lose pounds", "book on Labor Code", and anything of the same sort can insult anyone. These items must be avoided at all cost.
